Pakistan

Islam has influenced Pakistan immensely, currently in the government, and when it struggled to become a country. Before Pakistan was considered a country or even a territory it was ruled by the British Empire in British India (White). On August 14, 1947 (CIA), after the fall of British India, the Muslims demanded their own land for Islamic followers. To prevent further controversy India broke from the Indian colonies to India and Pakistan, and Pakistan became an independent country (White). The country has also engaged in war during its lifetime. Many of these wars were with India. These include the Kashmir War that lasted from 1947-1949, the 1965 War between Pakistan and India, and the 1971 war (Pakistan Army). It is clearly evident that Islam is significant to Pakistan, especially since Islam is the reason the country was formed.
