Quick intro to Islam

            Around 1.6 billion people in the world are Muslim! That’s 23% of the world’s population.  The two main sections of Islam are the Shia and Sunnis. These two groups mainly differ by political nature. The two main Muslim holidays are Eid al-Adha and Ramadan. The first wave of Muslims in America came in the 17th century with the arrival of slaves from Africa. While Islam may not be the majority religion in the United States, it dominates other parts of the world, especially Qatar.
