Nigeria’s capital city is Abuja and its previous capitals are Lagos was the former capital city ("MapsOfWorld”). It is situated on the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa and its neighbors are Benin, Niger, Cameroon, and Chad. The lower course of the Niger River flows south through the western part of the country into the Gulf of Guinea (Fact Monster). Though there are no true desert regions in Nigeria, the northern part of Nigeria lies within the region known as the Sahel. Nigeria's boundary with Cameroon and contains about 804 kilometers (500 miles) of rocky country.
