Macedonia became a country a long time ago. Islam came to the country by the Ottoman Empire was one of the largest long lasting empires in history.  The Ottoman Empire reached its height under Suleiman the magnificent when it expanded to cover the Balkans and Hungary, and reached the gates of Vienna. Macedonia got its independence by the Macedonian revolutionaries "Gemidzii" bring out series of attacks on buildings in Salonica to draw the attention of the European public towards the Macedonian people.  On August 2, 1903 the government launched the Linden Uprising against the Turks and declares Macedonian independence. there was no previous government because they’ve always had the Parliamentary Democracy. There are no recent wars involving Macedonia. It didn’t take very long until Macedonia became independent probably due to its organization.

 

Macedonia is very religious and likes to have everything revolve around their culture. Macedonian’s religious institution is the Sarena Dzamija. This mosque was built in 1438 and rebuilt in 1833. 30,000 eggs were used to make the paint and glaze that went into the decorations outside and inside the mosque.  Artwork influenced by the Islamic religion is the frescoes in the Holy Sophia are the best preserved fresco painting of all the existing fresco paintings in a cathedral church from the 11th century Byzantium. It is one of the key artefacts in the general history of Byzantium. They are partly preserved frescoes in the Vodoča and Veljusa monasteries, near Strumica, Macedonia.Cultural practices to observe in Macedonia are in the traditional culture the bride is expected to be a virgin. Modern high-rise apartment blocks have a balcony, which often is used for storage and clothes drying. A traditional Muslim household has separate rooms for male and female guests, whereas a Christian house has a single room. Everything in Macedonia is based on religion, their buildings, and artwork.
